MLAASC is the oldest swimming club on the Northern Beaches of Sydney, running for more than 100 years.
We are a family friendly club with ages starting from under 2 years of age and we have several familes that have three generations swimming each week.
We swim on a Saturday afternoon at the Andrew Boy Charlton Aquatic Centre, Manly from 1:30pm, with entries closing at 1:00pm.
Each week we hold four events covering many different distances from 15m to 100m to encourage all ages and abilities.
Our swimming program includes Freestyle and Breastroke each week with Butterfly and Backstroke being offered on alternate weeks.
We also cater for those who enjoy distance swimming with 200m, 400m, and Medley alternating so that there is a distance event on each week.
For our younger members who are not quite ready for the 200m and 400m we also offer a 100m as an introduction to the longer distance events.
Our races are based on a handicap system which provides each swimmer with equal opportunity to win each and every week.
As well as our normal race days we also hold two levels of championship events, Open Championships for our more experienced swimmers and age championships for all members that can swim independently and with correct stroke and have met the attendance requirements.
Our Championships cover all strokes and medley.
MLAA Swimming Club is affiliated with Warringah Amateur Swimming Association and throughout the season our members haveĀ the opportunity to compete in WASA carnivals.
